Answer
I met with representatives of the National Allergy Strategy Group (NASG) at the Northern Ireland launch of their National Allergy Strategy on 1 June 2026.
The discussion covered a range of issues relating to allergies and allergy management, including the experiences of children and young people with allergies in schools and legislative developments in the UK, including Benedict’s Law.
Departmental officials have also met with NASG representatives on 4 June 2026 to discuss a range of issues relating to allergy management in educational settings.
This engagement with NASG and other stakeholders will continue as the department considers how best to continue to support pupils with allergies within educational settings.
