Answer

The Outline Business Case for the new Regional Haematology Treatment Ward at the Belfast City Hospital was approved in December 2025 at a total capital cost of £18.8m. The Belfast Health & Social Care Trust has confirmed that £3.3m of funding for the project is available from charitable partners donations with the remaining balance to be funded from Departmental Capital DEL allocations.

The Trust has confirmed that project expenditure in 2026/27 will be funded from the charitable donations.
