The funding allocated in respect of financial hardship faced by students in local higher education institutions in each of the last five complete financial years, was as follows:

| 2023/24 | £3.8m |
| 2024/25 | £2.8m |
Financial years 2020/21 to 2023/24 include additional targeted allocations in respect of the financial impact of Covid-19 and the subsequent cost of living crisis on students.
