Answer

Since 2022/23, Full Dispersal funding has been provided by Home Office to enhance the capacity and infrastructure to support the wider dispersal of asylum seekers here. We were pleased to have been able to allocate £1.54million of this funding to councils to develop local support over the past two financial years, as follows:

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council£88,478
Ards and North Down Borough Council£152,939
Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council£84,218
Belfast City Council£406,228
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council£162,095
Derry City and Strabane District Council£59,448
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council£79,262
Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council£173,390
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council£50,000
Mid Ulster District Council£143,175
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council£147,695
TOTAL£1,546,928

In the absence of confirmed funding by Home Office for 2024/25, unfortunately we are not in a position to determine further allocations. We continue to press Home Office for confirmation of this year’s funding.
