To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to detail the (i) financial; and (ii) transition support provided to asylum seekers who enter roles on the Shortage Occupation List.

Immigration policy is an excepted matter. Decisions in respect of financial and transition support for those who are permitted to enter roles on the now Immigration Salary List (previously the Shortage Occupation List), whilst awaiting an asylum claim, therefore remain the responsibility of the Home Office.

Once granted refugee status, support services provided in the devolved sphere would not be impacted if an individual had previously been given permission to work, by Home Office, whilst awaiting their asylum claim decision.
