Answer
My Department has responded to a number of flooding incidents over recent months in North Down, most notably within the Bangor area.
Flooding in the Bangor Area will be examined as part of a wider ‘Bangor Significant Flood Risk Area’ study, which is already on my Department’s Rivers Directorate 10-year capital works programme.
The study will consider the recent flood events in Autumn 2023 and seek to identify if there are any viable flood alleviation options to mitigate flood risk in this area.
