Monitoring of Active Travel spend within the Department is not broken down by parliamentary constituency. The North Down constituency falls within the Ards and North Down Borough Council area which forms part of DfI Southern Division.

The following figures were recorded against Southern Division’s specific capital Active Travel projects for the current financial year to 31 January 2024 and the three previous financial years:

Financial Year£m
2020/210.4
2021/221.9
2022/230.9
2023/24 (to January 2024)1.0

The Department also issued letters of offer to the Ards and North Down Council for the delivery of two greenways, namely: Comber to Newtownards Greenway (£2.4m) and Newtownards to Green Road Bangor Greenway (£2.3m).
