Answer

I am advised there was no legislation for the double yellow line road markings which were on Brompton Road, Bangor prior to it being resurfaced, therefore new legislation will need to be created before the road markings can be reinstated.

I can confirm that the Department is content to progress with a ‘No Waiting’ restriction at this location and that the legislative process has commenced. However, it must be noted that this legislative process will require public consultation and can take some time.

Details of this and other planned legislation for the introduction of Waiting Restrictions for the area can be found in the Ards and North Down Borough Council Annual Report 2023/24 in the Assembly Library.
