Answer

Work has been completed in terms of overall provision; priority groups; system costs; workforce and communication requirements to both enable and support implementation of medical technology for those living with type 1 diabetes.

In addition, my officials have established a clinical working group to work with relevant stakeholders across Health and Social Care to develop an implementation plan, which is in the final stages of development.

Funding of £1.839m has been secured to support the implementation of this plan, including devices and workforce, through a service development which will be delivered through the Regional Insulin Pump service.
