Answer

The community pharmacy care home support service (CPCHSS) provided by participating community pharmacies provides support on the safe handling and administration of medicines to residents in nursing and residential care homes across NI.

This service provides two scheduled visits between the care home and their paired community pharmacy each financial year. In 2023/24, 407 nursing or residential homes that are registered with RQIA in Northern Ireland benefited from support via the Community Pharmacy Care Home Support Service. Ninety-three of the homes were located in the South Eastern area. Data is not held which can identify how many were in the North Down area.
