The table below sets out the resource funding provided to the three overseas offices in the last five years.

2023-24760,480.371,090,146.87239,009.87
(subject to audit)
2022-23832,438.701,183,612.92378,204.24
2021-22923,248.661,148,250.01397,155.31
2020-21841,142.621,061,991.24373,542.72
2019-20847,801.141,362,555.26437,650.03

The figures exclude depreciation.

The funding for Brussels in 2021/22 and 2022/23 includes ring fenced funding for the NI Protocol of £80k and £147k respectively allocated to the EULITS project.

The introduction of IFRS 16 in 2022/23 impacted the accounting treatment of leases such that rental payments are no longer reflected as resource departmental expenditure limits spend and are therefore excluded from the figures:

Washington c£260k;

Brussels c£205k;

Beijing c£60k.
