Answer
The Department is currently developing an Active Travel Network Delivery Plan for the North, which includes a full update of our design guidance and proposed active travel network plans for our larger towns and cities, including Bangor, Holywood, and Donaghadee. We plan to consult on draft proposals for the Active Travel Network Plan later in 2024.
I would also refer the Member to the current council reports which provide details of schemes in delivery in the Ards and North Down Council area - https://www.infrastructure-ni.gov.uk/articles/list-council-reports-202324
The Department also previously issued letters of offer to the Ards and North Down Council for the delivery of two greenways, namely: Comber to Newtownards Greenway and Newtownards to Green Road Bangor Greenway. The Department is continuing to engage with the Council on these projects.
