Answer
Road safety is an extremely high priority for my Department and I am committed to working proactively to make our roads safer and to address the needs of all road users.
Officials will review the sites where there are clusters of collisions on the A2 to identify if there are any common causation factors for these collisions which would allow an effective road safety measure to be introduced.
Concerns regarding driver behaviour such as speeding should be directed to the PSNI using the non-emergency 101.
One of the best ways to ensure the safety of our roads and fulfil our long-term goal of eliminating death and serious injury on roads by 2050 is by changing driver behaviour. If driver attitudes towards speeding and careless driving do not change, our death toll, which has increased in the past year, will continue to rise
