Answer
I can confirm that these schools were assessed along with all of the other schools within the Ards & North Down area using the assessment framework. The highest scoring schools were included in tranche one with the next highest ranking schools included in tranche two. Based on the assessment score, these schools did not rank highly enough to warrant inclusion in either tranche one or two.
The second tranche of part-time 20mph speed limits at schools is being delivered this year and upon completion, over 215 schools across the North will be benefitting from this initiative. Once these sites are fully operational and have had sufficient time to bed in, my Department will be in a better position in order to progress a review to determine if a further roll out of 20mph speed limits at schools will be taken forward. Therefore, regrettably, I am unable at this stage to confirm if these measures will be introduced at St Comgall's Primary School, St Comgall's Pre-School and Trinity Nursery School. However, I can assure you that it will be included in the assessment process for any future roll-out along with all the other schools that do not currently have such measures.
